Dressing for Autumn.

Dresses are easily my most favorite piece of clothing to wear, but it can be a challenge to wear them in the chillier months, which is like from September until March here in Pennsylvania. Ugh. Can I move down South yet? Anyways, when it comes to styling dresses in the fall I have one word of advice for you- layer.

Layering is much more than just throwing on a jacket over your outfit. Try to have fun with it! I like to layer with blazers over dresses and different colored tights underneath. When wearing riding boots sometimes I like to add knee high socks over my tights for an added accessory. (and it also keeps my feet nice and warm.) If you have a sleeveless dress that you are dying to wear in the fall you could easily wear a button up underneath the dress (such as this) or you could wear a long cozy cardigan over it. Honestly there are endless ways to layer.

For today's outfit I just wanted a casual, yet put together fall look. It was pretty windy and cold out today so layering was a must. I paired my chevron shift dress with a blazer from H&M, some tights, and my riding boots. For an added accessory I threw on my favorite wool hat, and thats it! See that wasn't too hard.
