8X10 Rugs Under $400!

Hi friends! If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen in this post that I recently found the score of a lifetime on Facebook Marketplace- a blue and white striped couch for only $20!!! God is so good and I am just so thankful that He lead me to this gem because Joe and I had been looking into getting a new couch soon and this was just the most perfect couch for us. Since the new addition to our living, I have been on the hunt for a few new pieces to add to tie the whole room together- a new coffee table, some art for the walls, and a new rug! Rugs have always been one of those things that I hated searching for online because 1.) they are expensive and 2.) there are endless options and it's extremely overwhelming to me. I finally got up the courage to search the internet for some rug inspiration and I actually found a few that I really like on Wayfair! I was searching for an 8x10 rug that is mostly neutral or had some blue tones to it and I found these beauties pictured above! I'm still not sold on one in particular but these are a good start for some inspiration!

Side note: I finally joined LIKE TO KNOW IT!! You can follow me on the Like to Know It App for links to a lot of the items (or similar items) from my social media and blog posts! *I do make a tiny commission if you shop directly through my links, but I greatly appreciate those who do shop from my page because that helps keep Simply Lauren Gray running and fresh!

I hope you all have a great week!

Preppy Home Decor.

Hi friends! How are you today? To be honest, I have my good days and bad days. Somedays I feel very productive and creative, while other days it's a struggle to even get out of my pjs. Right now I am just trying to look on the bright side of things and be thankful to have all of this free time at home with Joe and to be healthy and safe.

To keep myself occupied during this quarantine, I've been really getting into home decor! We already repainted our bathroom (photos to come soon!!) and now I am planning on redoing our guest bedroom! The projects in our house are endless so I figured I might as well tackle as many as I can before I have to go back to work.

While scouring the internet over the last few days for inspiration ideas, I came across SO many adorable "preppy" home decor pieces that I wanted to share with you!! I love a good, clean, blue and white themed room with pops of wicker/rattan and some greenery sprinkled throughout to keep things looking fresh. My goal is to have every room in my house look like that!

You can shop the pieces for each rooms mood board by clicking on the links below and you can follow me on Pinterest here for more ideas!

June Favorites.

How is it July already!? I feel like this year is just flying by so quickly...
With every month comes new products and things that I love, so I thought it would be fun to share with you my monthly favorites from here on out!

Last month I received this lilac candle from my sister-in-law and I lit it almost every single day. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing (hello, marble!) it smells so fresh and floral and fills our apartment with the loveliest scent. I love it so so much. As for favorite beauty products in June, I have three. First up is this priming moisturizer from Glossier which was a life saver after lots of sun exposure. It keeps my skin super hydrated and has a wonderful soothing sensation; I like to apply it on my face before makeup application and then again at night before bed. Next up is this lip balm by It Cosmetics. I love this lippie because it leaves your lips with the most natural looking pink tint- it's perfect for that no-makeup-makeup look. Lastly for beauty favorites, I rediscovered an oldie but goodie from Bare Minerals. This bronzer was my absolute favorite last summer but somehow got lost amongst all my other makeup and I forgot about it for a while. But last month when doing a vanity clean out, I was reunited with it and fell back in love. This bronzer instantly brings warmth to your face and can also be used as a blush or eyeshadow for a summery look. I would highly recommend it. My favorite fashion item from last month was definitely neck scarves. I found myself throwing them on with all of my outfits- I just love how easily they add a touch of glam to your outfit and make you look put together. I just picked up this one from J Crew. My last two favorites are kind of random, but I really loved the show Anne with an E on Netflix (it is such a feel-good show!) and I also loved this blue and white porcelain mug (from Home Goods) which oddly enough inspired a lot of the home decor I have been putting together in our apartment- give me all the blue and white things right now and I will be one happy gal :) Stay tuned for next months favorites!
